Vygon Helping Others is the name that Vygon UK has adopted for its charity committee. Formation of this committee has provided an excellent focal point for employee enthusiasm, and has served as a primary communication device for employees. We have chosen to support two charities – one local (Wiltshire Air Ambulance) and one national (Macmillan Cancer Support). Our employees have since engaged in various activities including bike riding, mountain trekking, parachute jumping, and cake baking to help and raise funds. The committee also has funds available to match money raised by employees for other charities.

Vygon (UK) Ltd has recently moved premises, and was keen to get involved with our local community in Swindon, Wiltshire. We have taken the initiative to support our local Police Community Club whose new campaign focuses on getting the youth off the streets to involve them in different sport clubs.

We have also been approached by the local Swindon Parkinson’s Group about using our security gatehouse to practice African drumming lessons. Since then the group has been using it a couple of times a week to teach people who have Parkinson’s. The national Parkinson’s magazine recently ran a piece about the positive benefits of drumming. It has been found therapeutic to people who have Parkinson’s, and we are extremely happy to take part and support.
